After the lead burden reduction smelting in blast furnace, we can obtain all kinds of smelting products as below: crude lead, lead matte, arsenic matte, soot and slag.
1. Crude lead: generally contains 96-99% lead, and always contains the metal impurities( such as copper, bismuth and tin) and rare metals(such as gold, silver, tellurium and so on) .Therefore, crude lead must be further refined to improve the lead purity and recycle valuable metals. Its processing method has two kinds--combination method(composed of preliminary refining and electrolytic refining) and pyro-refining.
Lead, arsenic matte: lead matte is a kind of alloy that composed of lead sulfide and ferrous sulfide and cuprous sulfide, moreover, there are a small amount of silver sulfide, zinc sulfide and other cuprous sulfide or arsenic and antimony compounds.Only when large amounts of arsenic and antimony in charge, it will generate arsenic matte (also called yellow slag), it is mainly composed of arsenic, antimony and metal compounds of nickel and cobalt.Because of the difference between lead raw materials, the output lead matte and arsenic matte have a volatile composition, their processing methods are not consistent, such as a factory smelting powder matte firstly in small blast furnace , and then cast block, block matte directly into the converter, using solid matte converting method for processing.
Smoke: contains many valuable metals, such as lead, cadmium, and thallium.Smoke composition depends largely on the melting conditions and material composition.
Flue gas: The burden surface gas of lead blast furnace depends on the operating duty, the material composition and wind conditions.
Slag: Slag is mainly composed of various kinds of metal oxide, these oxide form a compound composed of solid solution and liquid mixture and low melting point mixture. In addition, it also contains metal, metal sulfide and gases. Therefore, the slag is a kind of mixed multiple component system.
